For one woman in Mozambique, having access to a borehole has made a huge difference not just in her baking business, but her whole life in general, all made possible by charity: water.
Meet Tencia, a 54-year-old single mother, whose husband passed away eight years ago. Since then, her two oldest daughters have gotten married and are gone. She is now left on her own to provide for her three sons. Read more
In a small village within Mozambique stands five members of the local water committee. One by one they introduce themselves and their roles – the chairman, mechanic, tax collector, head of hygiene and President. What stands out most is that the President, Natalia, has a seemingly shy presence.
However, she is considered the most confident and determined young woman in Mozambique, not your average 15-year-old. This is a first that charity: water has seen in the time they’ve spent traveling with the group. Read more
