How long does it take for a print textbook to ship?


Due to processing time, orders ship within 1–2 business days after the order is received (weekends and holidays excluded). Shipping times vary but ground shipping generally arrives in 5–7 business days.


UPS delivers Monday – Friday. No Saturday delivery is available from this Web site.


Standard and Free shipping will be shipped UPS ground. Express shipping will be shipped UPS or FedEx 2nd day air.

How do I get free shipping?


Free shipping is offered for physical and print orders of $25 or more. Digital Products and Textbook Rentals are ineligible for free shipping and do not count toward the $25 dollar free shipping total. Textbook Rentals will always include a minimum shipping fee of $3.99.

Can I have my book shipped outside of the United States?


Any purchases made on the US CengageBrain site are limited to shipping with the United States only.

What is the CengageBrain.com returns policy for digital homework products?


Digital homework products that have a grace period (Aplia, CNOW and MindTap) can be refunded within the grace period. After the grace period has expired, refunds will no longer be available.

Digital homework products without a grace period are refundable under certain circumstances:

  • You purchased your subscription to the digital product no more than 2 weeks prior to the date on which you are requesting a refund

  • You have not completed more than 4 homework assignments

  • You have not received a refund for the same product previously

  • You have not redeemed the Access Code for any of the eResources or Companion Materials included with the digital product

What is the CengageBrain.com returns policy for print products?


Refunds or exchanges are available for non-electronically delivered products within 30 days of purchase. Returns must be in saleable condition and sent via a prepaid method to Cengage Learning at the following address:

All software and CD-ROMs must be returned to Cengage Learning with the original envelope seal or package seal unbroken and intact.

Can I receive a refund on the purchase of an eBook if I drop my class?


eBooks are refundable under certain circumstances:


- You purchased your subscription to the eBook no more than 2 weeks prior to the date on which you are requesting a refund

- You have not viewed or printed more than 20% of the text

- You have not redeemed the Access Code for any of the eResources or Companion Materials included with the eBook

- You have not received a refund for the same title previously


Please also note that eBooks and eChapters in offline mode must be checked in to online mode in order to get a refund.

What is the "Free eBook access while your book ships" program?


This program allows you to gain two week's free access to the eBook if you buy or rent a print text. The goal of this program is to allow users to gain immediate access to the book content while waiting for their text to arrive in the mail. To participate in this program, simply opt in by checking the box when you add your text or rental to your shopping cart. After completing your purchase, you'll be taken to "My Home" where you'll see the eBook listed. You'll have access to the eBook for two weeks.

If you take advantage of this offer, you cannot return your text or rental if you've printed more than 30% of the eBook.

What is the CengageBrain Policy on Taxes?


Cengage charges tax as applicable by the state laws that govern each transaction. The amount of tax charged on your order will depend upon local sales tax regulations and the type of product purchased.
